These supplications come from many different circumstances: the remorse of Prophet Adam and Eve, Prophet Musa&#8217;s anxiety before confronting Pharaoh, Prophet Yunus&#8217;s solitude in the darkness, and Prophet Ibrahim&#8217;s hopes for his family and a secure land.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a collection of <strong>duas from the Quran<\/strong>, with Arabic text, transliteration, and translations of their meanings:<\/p>\n<h2>Duas from the Quran for forgiveness and mercy<\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Prophet Adam and Eve&#8217;s dua after making a mistake<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Prophet Adam and Eve did not make excuses after their mistake. They both acknowledged their wrongdoing and asked Allah for forgiveness and mercy. Increase the wrongdoers in nothing but destruction.\u201d (Quran, Nuh [71]: 28)<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Prophet Ibrahim&#8217;s dua for his family to establish prayer and receive forgiveness<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>At the end of his supplications about Makkah and his descendants, Prophet Ibrahim asks that he and his descendants remain steadfast in establishing prayer. Rabbanaghfir l\u012b wa liw\u0101lidayya wa lil-mu&#8217;min\u012bna yauma yaq\u016bmul-\u1e25is\u0101b.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy Lord, make me one who establishes prayer, and likewise some of my descendants. Our Lord, accept my supplication. Our Lord, forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day of Reckoning.\u201d (Quran, Ibrahim [14]: 40\u201341)<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">A dua for forgiveness and mercy<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This verse preserves the words of believing servants who were once mocked by disbelievers. Forgive us and show us mercy; You are the best of those who show mercy.\u201d (Quran, Al-Mu&#8217;minun [23]: 109)<\/p>\n<h2>Duas for guidance and steadfast hearts<\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">A dua to keep our hearts from straying after receiving guidance<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Knowing the truth does not make a person immune to straying. Grant us mercy from Yourself; You are indeed the Bestower.\u201d (Quran, Ali &#8216;Imran [3]: 8)<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The dua of the young people of the cave<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The young people known as the People of the Cave took refuge in a cave to protect their faith. The supplication ends with a responsibility: to become an example for those mindful of Allah. You truly hear supplications.\u201d (Quran, Ali &#8216;Imran [3]: 38)<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Prophet Zakariyya&#8217;s dua not to be left alone<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In old age, still without a child, Prophet Zakariyya again turned to Allah.
